Our M12 Marine air conditioning unit is available in right, left or top discharge. The unit produces 12,000 BTU in cool mode, only 5,640 BTU in electric heat mode and 14,000 BTU in reverse cycle heat mode. We recommend at least 3 discharges for this unit. One 8” x 6” grill should be within 6 feet of the unit and at least two other discharges need to be at least the 4” round supply vents. As always, more is better, these are the minimums. Electric heat option is not available in 220 volt. Designed to cool 1,000 cubic feet. Unit Measures: L-19.75" W-13" H-13.75" Weight 66 lbs.
On average, This unit is designed to cool cruisers up to 32' and sailboats up to 34'.
Running amperage: Cool = 9.4 amps, E/H = 17.5 amps R/C = 11.4 amps. Add one amp for the standard seawater pump. Start up amperage is calculated by running amperage multiplied by 1.8.

To determine supply air discharge, You must be looking at the Front of the unit. The Front of the unit is the evaporator. (The evaporator with the stainless steel drain pan under it.) Now you can determine your Marine air conditioning ducting supply air requirements to the Right, Left or Top.

We have re-designed our control box to include a protected circuit board to ensure it is moisture and vibration protected. It is smaller in size than the standard control box previously provided and will have four mounting locations with rubber feet to prevent any disturbance while underway. The display panel will work on a "phone cord" concept. The Mermaid unit will still have the 4 foot "pig-tail" harness for ease of installation and remote mounting the electrical control box. The thermostat is also accompanied with 20 feet of four-wire thermostat cable and installation instructions.
